Princesa, Costa da Caparica

Portugal. Sunday, November 2, 2025.

Follow the bike path parallel to the dunes and, at the edge of the afternoon, head to Praia da Cabana do Pescador. There is a shift in rhythm. The board-shacks are replaced by lounge decks. Kids are digging holes. The beach stretches wider. The light is hazy and melancholic. Myriads of sea birds drift above the sand, jumping over the waves and flying away as a swarm.

Perched on the dune is Princesa — a white beach-club. The definition of bohemian-chic, its chilled vibes and people: white wine and cocktails, fresh fish and low tables on the beach. Lean in soft cushions. You could be in the Moroccan desert — in that freeing horizontality where kids and dogs can be let loose, where bare feet stretch and resist the call of winter.
